This was the second and successful method, the hub was pulled off using this puller plate which we made.
The inside of the hub is visible after many years.
Here you can see the original brake shoes and linings. The keyed shaft is tapered which made removal all the more difficult.
This was the first attempt to remove the hubs, it didn't work.
This is the fuel filler pipe leading down to the under floor mounted fuel tank. 
Here is the exterior filler port, missing its cap unfortunately. 
Lower down you can see how the pipe bends inwards.
