I took some time to clean the lower flywheel casing, just for a change of pace.
The same component, the black pipe is the oil feed from inside the sump.
The fan mounting/timing chain cover being cleaned.
With most of the sludge and old grease removed from the sump the shape is visible.

This interesting and important picture shows the factory numbers painted onto the casing, this will be added back later on the cleaned casing.

This is the attachment of one of the shock absorbers.
