The turret hatch, the rim is badly pitted from past attempts to weld down the hatch which of course makes my job more difficult. The only way to reinstate this material is to build it up with welding and then grind off the excess. 
With the drivers floor plate removed the extent of the grit and grime becomes apparent, the object with traces of red primer is the central fuel tank. 
Looking down into the drivers foot area. On the left of the picture is the accelerator pedal/wheel. 
Bucket loads of accumulated debris had to be removed from this area, whats left of one of the dials can be seen rotting away. 
Looking directly down into the pedal cluster, the lubrication pipe can be seen to our right.
